It went right down to the wire, but Mitch Marner has etched his name in Toronto Maple Leafs history.
The star winger potted an empty-netter with just over a minute to go in Toronto's win over the Sharks on Wednesday, giving him points in 18 consecutive games and tying Darryl Sittler and Eddie Olczyk for the all-time franchise record in the process.
Marner almost ran out of time to accomplish the feat, missing a few shot attempts before notching his eighth goal of 2022-23.

Mitch Marner ties Darryl Sittler and Eddie Olczyk for the longest point streak in @MapleLeafs history.
