Minnesota Wild late-round draft steals

One of the most exciting Wild prospects in recent memory, Kaprizov burst onto the scene last year’s World Junior Championship. A point-per-game player in the KHL, the Russian winger had one of the best U20 seasons in the league’s history last year, registering 42 points in 49 games. There’s been some confusion about Kaprizov’s willingness to leave Russia, but the Wild seem confident that he’ll make the jump once his contract is up in 2018.

A pure scorer with a power forward’s frame, Sokolov was once considered a first-round pick heading into the 2016 draft. His first season in the OHL raised some red flags however, and Sokolov ultimately fell to the tail end of the draft, where the Wild took a late flyer on him.
