Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski would have preferred to spend Sunday getting his team ready to play in the national title game for the second consecutive season. Instead, he took a step toward his next major goal.
Krzyzewski underwent a total knee replacement surgery Sunday at Duke University Hospital, the school announced. He will begin rehab later this week as he looks ahead to coaching the U.S. Olympic basketball team this summer for the last time.
