The stark contrast between college football's haves (led by the SEC and Big Ten) and its have-nots (sorry, Sun Belt and MAC) is on full display in USA Today's annual study of FBS head coaches salaries, released Wednesday.
At the top of the database, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, whose annual compensation is some $9 million, up $2 million from the 2015 season. In contrast, New Mexico State's Doug Martin — last at No. 119 on the list — has a total pay package of about $376,000. At that rate, Martin would have to work roughly 24 seasons to make what Harbaugh will be paid in 2016.
