Michigan St. tops Ohio St.

Well, that didn't go according to the script.

Michigan State went to Columbus as a two-touchdown underdog Saturday, and that was before it found out it wouldn't have its starting quarterback for the game. So of course, the No. 9 Spartans would hand Ohio State its first regular season Big Ten loss since Nov. 25, 2011, beating No. 3 Ohio State 17-14 on a last-second field goal by Michael Geiger.

Michigan State may also have put an end to the Buckeyes' hopes of defending their national title, while boosting its own shot at the same time.

It wasn't pretty, as neither team was able to do much on offense in the cold rain, but Michigan State's defense was fantastic; it kept them in this game.
