Entries for the 58th running of the Great American Race were made public on Friday. In addition to the 36 charter teams, several so-called open teams will bid for the four remaining position in Feb. 21's race.

A two-time winner of the Daytona 500, Waltrip had a sponsor but needed a ride. Remember, his eponymous team disbanded after the 2015 season.
