The NFL's first openly gay player is speaking out against a proposed "religious liberty" law in Missouri.
Michael Sam, who starred in college at Missouri and was drafted into the NFL by the then-St. Louis Rams, wrote in an op-ed Sunday in the Columbia Daily Tribune that SJR 39 "does not reflect the Missouri I know."

The proposed amendment to the state constitution passed the state Senate last month after a lengthy filibuster by Democrats and will next be taken up by the House.
