Mets get everything right except the result

NEW YORK — It was a tight situation for the Mets on Tuesday night, protecting a one-run lead in the seventh inning as the Diamondbacks had runners on second and third with two outs.

At the plate was left-handed hitter Michael Bourn, and the Mets had right-hander Hansel Robles on the mound, trying to wiggle his way out of a jam created by a Chris Owings double, a Phil Gosselin walk and a double steal, with two strikeouts mixed in. New York had left-hander Josh Edgin up in the bullpen, but Terry Collins elected to stick with Robles.
