A bloodied Marshall Plumlee’s tiebreaking 3-point play with 1 minute 14 seconds left helped 19th-ranked Duke overcome a second-half deficit against North Carolina State (16-17), and the Blue Devils, the reigning N.C.A.A. champions, edged the Wolfpack, 92-89, in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament’s second round Wednesday in Washington.
Duke (23-9) will face Notre Dame, the defending A.C.C. tournament champion, in the quarterfinals.
In an earlier second-round game, Cameron Johnson scored a career-high 24 points off the bench to lead Pittsburgh (21-10) over Syracuse (19-13). Pitt will meet North Carolina in the quarterfinals Thursday.
