LAS VEGAS – Floyd Mayweather and the United States Anti-Doping Agency said on Thursday the boxer did not commit an infraction by having an intravenous infusion the day before his fight against Manny Pacquiao in May.
Responding to an article published Wednesday on SB Nation that claimed the pound-for-pound boxing champion violated international anti-doping guidelines by using the IV to administer a mix of saline and vitamins, USADA said Mayweather committed no such violation.
“We believe it is important to immediately correct the record regarding the false suggestion that Floyd Mayweather violated the rules,” USADA said in a statement.
