Mavs owner Mark Cuban explains why he revoked ESPN credentials

Mark Cuban made headlines this weekend when it was revealed he revoked Mavericks game access to ESPN's Marc Stein and Tim MacMahon.

Both reporters are well-respected in the basketball community and are based in Dallas, but ESPN transitioned their role into NBA reporters rather than Mavericks beat writers. Considering Dallas isn't the powerhouse it once was, the move made sense for outsiders, but it upset Cuban.

In an email to the Associated Press, though, the billionaire businessman explained his reasoning is a bit deeper.

"Maybe I will be wrong but I see a direct path from the trends in coverage of games we are seeing over the last couple years to the automation of reporting on games and the curation of related content," Cuban told the AP.
