Opened in 2000, Kentucky Speedway is among NASCAR's roughest tracks — something even a major overhaul apparently hasn't changed.
The track's flaws have been blamed for causing headaches and nose bleeds. The surface also is infamous for its long delays caused by "weepers," or cracks from which groundwater flows even after the surface is dry.
The 1.5-mile track was repaved since the 2015 race, but Matt Kenseth said a new surface won't change what drivers feel in Saturday's Quaker State 400. Green flag: about 7:30 p.m. ET.
"I'd say it's the roughest repave on the circuit.
