Jordan Spieth picked up where he left off last year at Augusta National by shooting an opening round 6-under 66 Thursday to take the early first-round lead in the Masters.
Spieth, the defending champion, birdied six holes without dropping a shot. If his lead stands, he would become the first player to hold the lead after five straight rounds. This is the 80th Masters tournament.

Spieth had everything working Thursday. Despite playing with a new driver head, he found the fairway off the tee and gave himself good looks at birdie.
