Upset-minded Hawaii fought hard but lost the battle Sunday against Maryland as the Terrapins won their second round NCAA Tournament matchup 73-60 in Spokane, Wash.
Melo Trimble led No. 5 Maryland with 24 points and eight rebounds. Diamond Stone, who carried the Terps in the first half, finished with 14 points. After scoring 27 points against North Dakota State in the first round, senior Jake Layman had 10 points Sunday. It's Maryland's first Sweet 16 berth since 2003.
