Martin Truex Jr.’s team says its car failed postrace inspection at Chicagoland Speedway Sunday because Kevin Harvick hit Truex’s car early in the race.
Truex won the opening race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup but his car failed postrace inspection. Truex is not expected to lose the win under NASCAR’s new, harsher penalties for the Chase, but could face a points penalty and/or crew chief fine this week.
