Sherry Pollex's inspired fight against ovarian cancer gave added fuel for longtime boyfriend Martin Truex Jr. as he enjoyed one of the best NASCAR seasons in his career in 2015. Now that Pollex is cancer-free, the Sprint Cup driver is sharing the couple's emotional journey through a post for The Players' Tribune.
Titled "The Fight of Our Lives," Truex outlines how he juggled the demands of NASCAR and being the support system Pollex needed while she was fighting for her life.

Pollex, 36, was diagnosed with Stage III ovarian cancer in May 2014 and quickly underwent surgery.
