Martin Truex Jr. might have been the talk of NASCAR this summer. So as he prepares for this week's Sprint Cup competition at Pocono Raceway, we should forgive him for any sense of "what if."
Race after race, it seems, something goes wrong for Truex. Week after week, it seems, there's word of his team facing a new challenge or finding a weird way to lose a race. And so it goes.
Truex will begin the Pennsylvania 400 from pole position. He fortified his chances by being the fastest in Saturday's final Cup practice.
"We had a game plan coming here that we felt like we needed to qualify well to have a shot at winning on Sunday and we were able to do so today was a success," Truex said Friday.
