Martin Truex Jr. suffered through another heartbreaking setback in a race Saturday night. It’s something he’s almost becoming resigned to these days.
Once more, he was leading the most laps and looked to have a NASCAR Sprint Cup win in hand. Once more, he suffered a setback late in the race. Once more, he talked about his disappointment while someone else was celebrating in Victory Lane.
Despite a dominating performance, he finished 14th.
Truex led 172 of the first 211 laps before enduring a crippling blow on pit road. He pitted under green-flag conditions then immediately determined that something didn’t feel right when he came off pit road.
