Markelle Fultz selected No. 1 overall by Philadelphia 76ers in NBA Draft

As expected, the Philadelphia 76ers selected point guard Markelle Fultz No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

The Sixers had traded up to acquire the top pick from the Celtics after Fultz impressed them in a pre-draft workout. Boston received the No. 3 overall pick and a future first-round pick.

It’s the second straight year the Sixers had the top pick. They drafted LSU forward Ben Simmons No. 1 in 2016 but he didn’t play last season due to a foot injury, and Philly finished 28-54.

More to come.
