Nazem Kadri won't return to the lineup for the Maple Leafs this season.
The NHL on Monday handed the center a four-game suspension without pay for cross-checking Red Wings center Luke Glendening in the back of the head Saturday.

The cross-check occurred in the second period of Toronto's 3-2 loss. Kadri skated to the front of Detroit's net and struck Glendening from behind. Glendening wasn't hurt on the play, but Kadri was assessed a minor penalty.
Kadri, a repeat offender under the sport's collective bargaining agreement, will forfeit $200,000 in salary toward the league’s player assistance fund.
