Manchester City captain Kompany forced off again

Vincent Kompany has suffered yet another injury setback during Manchester City's game at Crystal Palace.

Kompany was a somewhat surprise inclusion in Pep Guardiola's starting lineup given his ongoing injury problems, the latest of which came when he pulled out of Belgium's friendly against the Netherlands just over a week ago.

But his afternoon lasted just 37 minutes as he limped from the field 10 minutes after a nasty collision with City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Kompany was kicked in the face but also landed awkwardly, with his knee bent under his body.

After receiving treatment for several minutes, he initially appeared able to carry on but, after disputing a number of aerial duels, he slumped to the ground and was eventually replaced by Pablo Zabaleta.
