WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Cityzens this morning.
The 22-year-old Australian international sustained the injury during the first half of Manchester City’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester United at The Joie Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Fowler had to leave the field in the 25th minute with Naomi Layzell coming on in her place. Manchester City went on to lose the tie 2-0.
Fowler’s injury has now been fully-assessed by the Manchester City medical team and it has been confirmed that she has ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
