Luka Doncic continued his torrid start to the season on Monday night, becoming the second-youngest player in NBA history to record a 40-point triple-double. The only other 20-year-old to accomplish the feat is LeBron James.
Doncic finished Dallas’ 117-110 win over San Antonio with a career-high 42 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. His three-pointer with just under 30 seconds to play proved to be the game’s dagger.
“It’s always special,” Doncic told FOX Sports Southwest postgame, seconds after giving owner Mark Cuban an on-court hug.
Doncic thrived down the stretch, but he also scored 17 points in the first quarter.
