Lucky Whitehead was released from the Dallas Cowboys due to a case of mistaken identity, and he certainly doesn't appreciate the way he was treated.
"Let's not sugarcoat anything," Whitehead said Tuesday, per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. "I was pretty much being called a liar."
Per ESPN, the receiver had a warrant out for his arrest after failing to appear in court on a shoplifting charge in Virginia. The Cowboys released him Monday shortly after hearing about the incident.
As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted, all charges were later dropped when the police department discovered it had the wrong person.
