Loyola University announced Sunday it has parted ways with embattled women's basketball coach Sheryl Swoopes.
A three-time gold medal winner as a player with the U.S women's Olympic team and a three-time MVP in the WNBA, Swoopes has been under investigation by the university since this spring. The investigation began after 10 players came forward to complain about Swoopes' treatment of them, with one player saying she had been humiliated. All the players had asked for transfers or release from their scholarships because of the incidents.
The university has not released the results of that investigation.
Loyola announced its decision in a short statement from athletic director Steve Watson.
