ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — If this week’s British Open groupings were like dinner seating arrangements, Tiger Woods and Louis Oosthuizen would have been tempted to switch their place cards so they were not near each other. Woods and Oosthuizen have combined to win the past three British Opens contested at the Old Course here, so perhaps in a nod to their shared history at St. Andrews, they will play the first two rounds together this week.
The last time they were grouped together, in last month’s United States Open at Chambers Bay, near Seattle, they shot a combined 17 over par the first day.
