Losing QB a blessing in disguise for Jets?

Set aside the particulars of Geno Smith’s 6-10 weeks absence from the New York Jets, and what you have is a best case scenario for 2015. With Smith sidelined, the Jets will turn to backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Once the chosen starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, Fitzpatrick has jumped from Tennessee to Houston to New York the past three years.

At 32, Fitzpatrick is hardly the franchise quarterback the Jets hope to have in Smith, but he could very well be the best fit if New York wants to win now. Fitzpatrick outperformed Smith in 2014, throwing for three more touchdowns (17) and five fewer interceptions (8) than the starter.
