San Francisco (AFP) - The Los Angeles Dodgers were forced to keep the celebrations on hold once more after suffering a 3-2 defeat against the San Francisco Giants which prevented them from clinching the divisional title.

The Dodgers need only one win to wrap up the the National League's West Division for a third consecutive year.

But a late season slump -- they have now lost four straight games and eight of their last 10 matches -- has dented their hopes of entering the post-season on the back of a winning run.
