LOOK: Paul Pierce cleverly takes credit for Celtics winning No. 1 NBA Draft pick

Paul Pierce enjoyed the results of Tuesday night's NBA Draft Lottery, and not merely because his Celtics won the No. 1 overall draft pick. He enjoyed it because he played a part in the whole process.

You see, in 2013, the Boston Celtics traded Pierce, along with Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry and D.J. White for Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans, three first-round picks (2014, 2016 and 2018), plus the right to swap first-rounders in 2017. So in a way, he feels responsible for the Celtics' No. 1 pick. As he enters retirement, Pierce says it's his parting gift to the team that drafted him.
