Good luck stopping Johanna Konta at Wimbledon. The top-ranked British player, who shook off a nasty spill last month to beat World No. 1 Angelique Kerber, advanced to the third round of Wimbledon on Wednesday after defeating Donna Vekic in a three-set, 3-hour marathon.
Needless to say, the home crowd was pumped.
The final set took an hour and 19 minutes, but Konta emerged victorious 7-6 4-6 10-8. Konta entered the tournament battling a spine injury suffered during her match with Kerber, which stopped that match for nearly 10 minutes for treatment.
