The Little League Softball World Series is in the middle of controversy after the president of Central Iowa Little League accused a team from Washington of throwing their game in pool play.
South Snohomish Little League was unbeaten heading into their game against North Carolina. Snohomish lost that game 8-0, getting no-hit in the process. The result put Iowa in a three-way tie with North Carolina and Washington, which led Central Iowa president Chris Chadd to file a protest.
Only two of the three teams could advance out of pool play. Washington had already secured their bid, and by losing to North Carolina, effectively forced out Iowa.
