There is a good chance that we will hear from Dan Iassogna during this World Series: Iassogna is the umpire crew chief, and if he’s on the field when a call is reviewed, the task of announcing the outcome will fall to him.
“The hardest part is working with the crowd noise. Do I stop talking through the crowd noise? Do I power through it?” Iassogna said in an interview with The New York Times during the season, the first in which umpires have announced calls to crowds and television audiences.
