Denny Hamlin scored his first Daytona 500 win Sunday by beating Joe Gibbs Racing pseudo-teammate Martin Truex Jr. by 0.010 seconds after race leader Matt Kenseth got loose and slammed into the wall on the last lap, setting up a drag race to the end.
It was the closest finish in 58 runnings of the Daytona 500 and the first for Toyota and Hamlin, who is just two months removed from ACL surgery.
