ALLEN PARK, Mich. — To try and change the fortunes of a downtrodden franchise owned by auto magnates, new Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn became a bit of a car salesman this offseason.
Case in point: His recruiting pitch to free-agent running back Stevan Ridley.
Having backgrounds with the New England Patriots — Quinn spent the past 15 seasons climbing in the front office; Ridley played there from 2011 to 2014 — both are accustomed to sustained success.
