Lightning Will Be Without Callahan for Game 6

Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Ryan Callahan will miss Game 6 of the team’s playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

The team said Monday night that Callahan, who has no goals and three assists in 12 postseason games, was sent to Tampa General Hospital after experiencing abdominal pain earlier in the day.

Team spokesman Bill Wickett said Callahan’s return to the ice was undetermined.

The Lightning have lost the last two games of the series after jumping to a 3-0 lead. Game 6 is in Tampa.
