With Lenny Dykstra’s autobiography, “House of Nails: A Memoir of Life on the Edge” coming out Tuesday, the New York Post offers excerpts from the book, specifically ones detailing the former baseball star’s drug-fueled, womanizing, and in-and-out of rehab adventures with Charlie Sheen, Jack Nicholson and Mickey Rourke.
After partying became his “full-time job,” Dykstra landed in rehab at Promises, a famous facility in Malibu where many celebrities end up. Sheen was one of those celebrities during Dykstra’s stay, and the two became friends. That turned out to be a blessing for Sheen.

On one Friday in 2014, when Dykstra and Sheen were both long gone from Promises, Dykstra received a frantic call from Sheen’s finance, Scottine.
