Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez is the subject of a $1.5 million lawsuit that claims the pitcher knowingly gave a woman at least one sexually transmitted disease.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the woman said she tested positive for an unspecified, non-life-threatening sexually transmitted disease several days after having consensual sex with Martinez in December.
