Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez is the subject of a $1.5 million lawsuit that claims the pitcher knowingly gave a woman at least one sexually transmitted disease.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the woman said she tested positive for an unspecified, non-life-threatening sexually transmitted disease several days after having consensual sex with Martinez in December. The lawsuit said Martinez, who claims she was involved romantically on and off with Martinez since 2012, did not warn her of an alleged condition upon reconnecting, according to TMZ Sports.
