Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard told reporters on Friday that the mother of his 6-year-old son, David, died last month after she had a seizure.
David’s mom, Melissa Rios, had an epileptic seizure on March 27 at her home in Calabasas, California, according to ESPN.
Howard is currently home with his son and four other children in Georgia, where he has been training and sheltering in place during the NBA’s COVID-19 hiatus.
"I've had some things happen in my personal life that has been difficult to really handle," Howard said on a video conference call with reporters, via ESPN.
