Kyle Larson was lucky to walk away after a dangerous single-car crash at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., on Sunday.
Larson, who was running in front of Brian Vickers on Lap 47 in the Auto Club 400, cut a left-rear tire and slammed into the outside wall, but that was the least of his worries.
The No. 42 car was turned and headed toward an inside retaining wall. Larson said he lost his brakes and was unable to slow the car down before crashing head-on into the SAFER barrier as his car lifted off the ground and turned nearly 360 degrees.
