Kordell Stewart and Rashaan Salaam were magic on the college football field together, and it appears that on-field chemistry stretched far beyond the gridiron.
Stewart, the quarterback of the Colorado University Buffaloes and a teammate of Salaam's between 1992 and 1994, believes that Salaam deserves a statue on Colorado's campus. Salaam recently passed at age 42 . No foul play is expected, and police are currently investigating his death as a suicide.
Stewart also shared some details of the personal life and meetings between he and Salaam. The friendship was strong, and the competitive nature of Salaam never faltered, even years after retirement.
