Kobe Bryant posthumously wins Governors award for philanthropy beyond the court

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant posthumously won the Los Angeles Area Emmy Governors Award on Saturday.

Bryant was given the award for his “philanthropy, community building and inspiration beyond the court.” Legendary composer John Williams accepted the award for Bryant.

Recognizing his legacy of philanthropy, community building & inspiration extending beyond the basketball court, the Governors Award goes to @KobeBryant. Legendary composer & friend John Williams accepts the award on behalf of the Bryant family at the #LAEmmys sponsored by @KIA.
