Knicks Finish 32-50: ‘Little Bit Better’

INDIANAPOLIS — The 2015-16 regular season — or Year One, as the Knicks have been calling it of late — came to a subdued end Tuesday.

The peculiar nomenclature is a reference to the club’s rebuilding project under Phil Jackson, who took over as the team’s president in 2014, bringing with him a new system of basketball and a directive to reshape the organization almost from scratch.

Technically, the Knicks have finished two seasons under Jackson, but they have taken to referring to the 2014-15 season, that 17-win debacle, as Year Zero — a season so grim that it apparently does not deserve proper numerical classification.
