CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When Carmelo Anthony warmed up before the Knicks played the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, something, he said, felt off. He couldn’t make the ball do the things he typically can. He couldn’t sink baskets with the ease that he normally does.
Still, he slogged through nearly three quarters of the Knicks’ listless 97-84 loss to the Hornets before finally leaving for good with 2 minutes 55 seconds remaining in the third. He had just 9 points on 4-for-11 shooting in 28 minutes.
Officially, the Knicks said he was sitting with a sore left knee.
