The Sacramento Kings came into the season with playoff aspirations, but a 3-6 start to the season coupled with an injury to point guard De’Aaron Fox could make a tall task even taller.
Fox sustained a sprained left ankle in practice on Monday and will miss the next three-to-four weeks, where he will then be re-evaluated, the team announced.
The 22-year-old Kentucky product had started building on a productive 2018-19 season. Through nine games, he was averaging 18.2 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 43% from the field.
The Kings opened the season 0-5—one of the most surprising starts in the league—but new head coach Luke Walton has seen his team win three of its last four games.
