LOS ANGELES — Anze Kopitar scored the tying goal late in the third period and tipped home the winner in overtime, propelling the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Rangers on Thursday night.
Kopitar deflected a slap shot by Jake Muzzin at 1 minute 34 seconds of the extra period to seal the win for the Pacific Division-leading Kings, who rallied from a two-goal deficit for their third straight victory over a likely playoff team. Los Angeles (43-22-5) won after trailing to start the third period for the N.H.L.-best eighth time this season.
