Kevin Harvick starts first Sprint Cup Chase race from rear of field

Kevin Harvick’s championship bid endured an early setback when he was sent to the rear for the start of Sunday's race at Chicagoland Speedway for unapproved adjustments.

Harvick, who was to start fourth, was penalized for adjustments made after prerace inspection, according to multiple reports.

Harvick is accustomed to overcoming an early Chase setback. Harvick opened the 2015 Chase with a 42nd-place finish at Chicagoland, but he rallied and advanced past the first round.
