Kevin Harvick sped to the front on a late restart, passing Matt Kenseth to win at New Hampshire and secure a place in the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
It was a tough loss for Kenseth, who led 105 laps, Ally Martin Truex Jr. led 141 laps as Toyotas appeared to have the checkered flag in reach. It was not to be, as Harvick timed the restart to perfection.
Harvick didn't qualify well but was patient over 300 laps, avoiding pit problems and making winning adjustments as the race wore down. The day's sixth caution proved to be the break Harvick needed, a year after he saw victory disappear as his car ran dry.
