Pitching on three days rest, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw shut down the Mets’ bats in New York en route to a 3–1 win in NLDS Game 4.
Kershaw threw 94 pitches over seven innings, allowing just a run on three hits while striking out eight. The lone blemish was a solo shot from Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy in the fourth.
The Dodgers hopped out to an early 3–0 lead off Steven Matz in the top of the third inning, with an Adrian Gonzalez RBI single, and a two-run double from former Met Justin Turner.
