Kentucky Derby 2016: Can Triple Crown go back-to-back like 1977-78?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It happened last year. The last time it happened, it happened in back-to-back years.

That’s the level of excitement heading into the 142nd Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday. A record crowd of 124,589 for the Kentucky Oaks on Friday, the appetizer to the main event.
