Kentucky is taking the checkerboard pattern all the way to the top.
The Wildcats' equipment managers released images of the men's basketball team's new jerseys, and the primary takeaway is that the checkerboard pattern that emerged three seasons ago now is a dominant feature. Those checkboards now extend all over the university's brand — from the football field to, now, the tops of the basketball jerseys.

The aesthetic gets two thumbs up from this design novice. The college basketball trend of having shorts that have a completely different pattern than the top is weird and obnoxious — as is the billowy shorts under the tight-fighting top, though that probably isn't going away.
